This is the best example of an early Wilcox Crittenden Gimbal Lantern we have seen. The lamp is in remarkable condition, showing only the very lightest traces of honest shipboard use. The lamp has a mellow burnished surface which the photograph can not convey. The Burner is the proper "English Made",which WC used in their early production. The lamp stands about 9 1/4" tall, including the chimney, and will project about 5 1/2" from the wall or bulkhead. Smoke bell is about 4" across. This is a beautiful example of a classic Seth Thomas 7 inch Ships Clock. This highly collectible vintage clock is in good running condition and has been professionally serviced. The clock repairman told me this clock is from the 1920's. This clock is time only, no bells. This Seth Thomas Ships Clock has character. The bezel has some dents and has a small dent in the case. The face shows 80 years of wear. Probably from people rubbing the face when they set the clock or hit it with the key, which is included. This clock has double size 0 main springs.
